April 21: Poem in Your Pocket Day

Every year during National Poetry Month, the Academy of American Poets leads the nation in celebrating Poem in Your Pocket Day – one more way to enjoy and interact with poetry!

On this day people are encouraged to carry a poem in their pocket. With a poem in your pocket, you have a poem to give, trade, leave someplace anonymously, read out loud at your meeting, or read to yourself at lunch (among many other possibilities). PoemCity participates by offering free poems at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library, the Welcome Center downtown, Bear Pond Books, and the North Branch Cafe.
