PoemCity 2018 – Time for Your Poems!

The Kellogg Hubbard library is once again calling for poetry submissions for its ninth year of PoemCity, a city-wide event that displays poetry on local business storefronts as a way to celebrate National Poetry Month. In addition to the text display, PoemCity features poetry/art installations, poetry-related workshops, and readings. Last year, the PoemCity calendar included 35 events.

“Poetry has an important place in the lives of Vermonters,” said PoemCity Director Rachel Senechal. “PoemCity collaborates with many organizations, schools, and individuals, to read, hear, write, and discuss poetry, the language of the soul. With the many poems displayed in our downtown windows, it is our goal to make poetry accessible to our community, and to inspire new readers and writers of poetry,” she said.

Vermonters of all ages and experience level are welcome to submit original poetry now through February 1, 2018. Please visit kellogghubbardlibrary.submittable.com for guidelines and more information on how to submit.
